Dads want legal strength for GAD

CAGAYAN de Oro legislators headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy adopted a resolution urging the City Council Committee of the Whole on budget deliberation and the Local Finance Committee to consider the hiring of a legal officer who will solely handle issues and concerns on Gender and Development (GAD).

The resolution was filed by Councilors Joyleen Mercedes Balaba, Edna M. Dahino, Ian Mark Nacaya, and all majority members.

Councilor Nacaya said his or her function will be dedicated to GAD responsibilities and duties but will be under the supervision of the City Legal Office.

The move comes as the city continues to strengthen its GAD programs for women, men and members of the LGBT community.
