Cagayan de Oro is exploring opportunities to strengthen its position in golf tourism through the Limitless Adventure Cup 2026, a tourism promotion initiative of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Northern Mindanao.
Representing Mayor Rolando “Klarex” Uy, Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, along with DOT and City Hall officials, Pueblo de Oro management, golf enthusiasts, and sponsors, led the ceremonial tee-off during the tournament’s opening round at the Pueblo Golf and Country Club on September 24, 2026.
Running from September 24 to 26, the tournament is part of DOT NorthMin’s tourism promotion efforts aimed at positioning Cagayan de Oro as a premier golf destination in Region X and attracting golfers in the country and from around the world.
Cabanlas said the initiative would attract both domestic and international golfers, citing Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia as countries with established golf tourism markets that Cagayan de Oro could aspire to compete with.
He also highlighted the potential contribution of golf tourism to the city and neighboring LGUs’ economic development through increased visitor activity and tourism-related opportunities.
The Limitless Adventure Cup 2026 is part of ongoing efforts to explore golf tourism’s potential in Northern Mindanao and promote the region as a destination for golf enthusiasts. (PGU/SP)
