City to ink pact with COWD for  water supply project in Brgy Camaman-an

THE city government will enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) for the implementation of potable water supply at Sitio Tipolohon in Barangay Camaman-an under the Bottom-up Budget (BuB) for 2016.

The City Council during its regular session Monday, October 22, presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar S. Moreno to enter into and sign the MOA for the purpose.

It was learned that various projects were identified and included in the 2016 budget of participating national government agencies and the city is one of the recipients of these.

As the implementing partner, the city government, through its Local Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT), proposed the implementation of the Enhanced Community-Based Water System at Sitio Tipolohon.

Under the MOA, the city shall establish a linkage through tapping into COWD’s already functional and operational pipelines and make available the amount of P1 million for the project.

For its part, the COWD shall take out and maintain with responsible insurers such insurances, against such risk and in amounts as shall be consistent with appropriate and/or business practices to cover. These include hazards incidental to acquisition, transportation and delivery of goods finances out of the fund to the place of installation and risk of fire, flood and other damages to the facilities constructed in whole or part, among others.

The legislation was favorably endorsed by the committees on public utilities, on finance, budget and appropriations and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Teodulfo E. Lao, Jr.; Edna “Inday” M. Dahino and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively.
