Ocon calls on DPWH to look into concern of Balulang folk

COUNCILOR Zaldy Ocon, chair of the City Council committee on public works, last week called on the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to act on the concern of residents of Balulang.

This, after the committee discussed the resolution of Barangay Balulang regarding the implemention of the proposed opening of an access road from SM uptown to Sitio Macanhan in Barangay Carmen.

According to the punong barangay of Balulang, heavy traffic is being experienced from SM uptown to Carmen.

He said this is the reason why there is a need to open a connecting road in the area. A survey was conducted but no follow-up took place, he added.

The committee learned that since the proposed development is a national project, the committee has no jurisdiction over the needed budget for the purpose.

The DPWH informed the committee that they have already requested funding for the implementation of the project. He said he will update the committee on the status of the proposed project. (EF)
