Dads OK P5.5 B budget


SUPPORTING the implementation of vital programs and projects this year, the City Council during its regular session on January 22, presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted Ordinance No. 13376-2018, approving the annual budgets of the General Fund with an estimated income of P5.14 billion and Special Account: Local Economic Enterprises/Utilities with an estimated income of P417 million to finance estimated various expenditures of same amounts for calendar year 2018.


In his budget message, Mayor Oscar Moreno cited that the city expects to provide more responsive social services along education, health, adequate shelter assistance, employment opportunities, agricultural and fishery extension services.


Goals and objectives of the city government this year include the provision of sustainable job generation and employment opportunities, capability building towards the development of micro and small enterprises uplifting the economic status of individuals and groups, among others.


Based on the consolidated summary of the General Fund and Special Account-Economic Enterprises Budget, 25-percent of this year’s budget will be allotted for General Public Services, and 29-percent for Social Services. The biggest slice of the budget, or 46-percent, will be used for Economic Services.


The allocation also includes the 20-percent Development Fund in the amount of P302,437,000, which is equivalent to 20-percent of the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA).
