SP accredits Kagay-an Plus in LSB

A RESOLUTION accrediting the Kagay-an PLUS Preserving Life, Uniting Society, Incorporated was approved by the 18th City Council during its 64th regular session presided by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy.

The Power learned that Kagay-an PLUS was established to represent the Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community to the public in relation to Human Rights and HIV and AIDS in Cagayan de Oro City and in Northern Mindanao. It envisions to become a leading organization that promotes a non-discriminatory and gender-responsive society in addressing sexual health and human rights issues among People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) and LGBT.

The accreditation was for its membership in the Local Special Bodies, pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2016-97 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the 1991 Local Government Code, or funding its project from the City or other sources.

The resolution was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on health and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes Gaane and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively. (EF)
