INCENTIVES
It can be recalled that during last week’s regular session the councilor gave a special report on the city’s incentive ordinance for athletes.
She said that the ordinance granting cash incentive awards to deserving local athletes who won medals or awards in national or international competition of individuals, or teen sports and other purposes was passed and enacted in 2001.
She stressed that these incentives are given not as a payment but a gift to them for the pride they had given the city.
Ordinance No. 7927-2001, establishes guidelines for the grant of cash incentive award to deserving local athletes who won medals or awards in national or international competitions of individual or team sports.
The councilor said she also proposed a similar law granting incentives to topnotchers of professional board and licensure examinations.
