SP backs DPWH projects

A RESOLUTION interposing no objection to the removal construction and relocation of public structures was approved by the 18th council during its recent regular session presided by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy.

This is in relation to the construction of bypasses/diversion roads, including road-right-of-ways and slope protection, to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Region 10.

The structures to be removed/constructed/relocated are the existing concrete pavement, with an area of 394 square meters, raised curbs with a length of 51 linear meters, and street light number 1.

The project is now approaching Agora-PPA Road (Junction) down to Port Area, Tabaco, Lapasan, this city to complete and open the Coastal Road in spite of the right of way problem being encountered, The Power learned.

The resolution was reviewed and favorably endorsed by the committees on engineering and public works and on laws and rules respectfully chaired by Councilors Zaldy O. Ocon and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya. (EF)

City-DA MOA for agri program seen

THE City Council committee on agriculture and fisheries chaired by Councilor Annie Y. Daba favorably endorsed to the committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya the grant of two units of spring development for Barangays Bayanga and Tuburan.

City Mayor Oscar Moreno endorsed the proposed Memorandum of Agreement entered into by and between the Department of Agriculture Region 10 and the city government for the purpose.

The Power learned that DA-10 is implementing the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) to enhance agricultural productivity and production and as a strategy of realizing the Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Plan (AFMP).

Under the MOA, the city shall provide all the support for the project and direct all its efforts toward accomplishing the purposes for which the agreement is made, among others.

For its part, DA shall be responsible in the procurement of spring development to support the production of vegetable and other high value seedlings in the region through public bidding, among others.
