Police cmte to study request of BFP
VICE MAYOR Raineir Joaquin V. Uy referred to the City Council committee on police, fire and public safety chaired by Councilor Romeo V. Calizo, the letter of C/Insp. Wilfredo A. David of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) requesting for the approval of the renewal of the Deed of Usufruct between the BFP and the Cagayan de Oro City government. This is to support the request and processing of the application for budget allocation for the construction of the Cagayan de Oro City Fire District from the BFP-National Headquarters amounting to P18 million.
The Power learned that the lot located at Capt. Vicente Roa Street where CDO Fire District is currently erected is owned by the city government. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) executed by both parties 25 years ago needs to be renewed, said the BFP official.
The BFP-National Headquarters requires a Deed of Donation of the lot where a city fire station will be erected for them to allocate a construction fund.
However, an amendment has been implemented where a Deed of Usufruct may be submitted in lieu of a Deed of Donation for the application of budget allocation for the construction of the city fire station building from the BFP-NHQ, he cited.
