NEA thanks SP for supporting nat’l electrification program

NATIONAL Electrification Administration (NIA) OIC Henrietta A. Maramot expressed her gratitude to the 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy for supporting the Sitio Electrification Program (DEP) and the Nationwide Intensification of Household Electrification Program (NIHE).

The programs are being implemented by the NEA and the Department of Energy (DOE), respectively, in line with the national government’s electrification program.

It may be recalled that the City Council adopted Resolution No. 12568-2017, expressing the city’s unequivocal support to the projects to uplift the lives and economic well-being of residents especially in the countryside and remote areas.

Legislators, likewise, enacted Ordinance No. 13182-2017, exempting from payment of electrical permit fee the household-beneficiaries of the SEP and NIHE programs.

The Misamis Oriental Rural Electric Service Cooperative (MORESCO 1) offered both programs within its franchise area in collaboration with the city government of Cagayan de Oro.
