Rodriguez-led cmte reviews accreditation of CSOs, POs

The committee on planning, research & innovation and people’s organization accreditation, chaired by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, convened to discuss the proposed resolution for the accreditation and re-accreditation of 77 Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and People’s Organizations (POs) in Cagayan de Oro City.

Accreditation grants organizations a clear mandate to become part of local special bodies, in line with Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Memorandum Circular No. 2025-060 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the 1991 Local Government Code.

It also includes their participation in the Committee on People’s Organization of the City Development Council (CDC), as provided under Ordinance No. 14334-2022.

Present during the committee meeting were Councilors Aga Suan and Marlo Tabac, with DILG City Director Ellaine Depaur, as well as representatives from the City Planning and Development Office, City Legal Office and the City Administrator’s Office, who provided support and legal guidance on the accreditation process.

This initiative underscores the importance of CSO and PO participation in local governance to further strengthen transparency, inclusivity, and unity in the city’s development. (JDO/SP)
