Oro dads back MOA with Maria Reyna-XU Hospital

THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, enacted an ordinance authorizing City Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Maria Reyna-Xavier University Hospital, Inc., Department of Pediatrics (MRXUH) covering the renewal of the parties’ partnership in providing free medical and other health services to the residents of Barangay Nazareth.

Under the MOA,  MRXUH will assign a pediatric resident at the specified health facility at least three times a week for a minimum of two hours each day on Monday and Tuesday, and additionally every Thursday for health teaching.

MRXUH will also facilitate patient referrals to a higher government health facility if needed, following evaluations at the Nazareth local health center. Additionally, MRXUH will provide regular feedback to the City Health Office regarding the health services rendered and any other community health concerns requiring CHO attention.

For its part, the city shall allow MRXUH resident physicians to use the city-owned facility in Barangay Nazareth to provide free medical and health services to the local residents.

The city will also provide technical and logistical support, as well as supervision, through the City Health Office (CHO) at the facility. Additionally, the city will conduct regular evaluations of the healthcare status in the area.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the Committee on Health, Nutrition and Health Insurance and on Laws and Rules, respectively chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Edgar S. Cabanlas.
