Moreno graces VAWC, Gender Based Violence orientation

City Councilor Imee Rose P. Moreno, chair of the committee on women & family relations, graced the Orientation of Task and Responsibilities of VAWC Desk Officers and Orientation on Gender–Based Violence last December 6 to 7, 2022 at Cronin Hall, Cathedral, this City.

The orientation was attended by representatives of urban barangays in the city. Councilor Moreno said she aims to inspire, share and empower and raise each other.

In her message during the orientation, Moreno said that although there are different cases of violence against women, these numbers have decreased.

“We should be thankful because it is a good sign but on the other side there are victims who were not handled by VAWC officers because it might not have reached the Women’s Desk officer so it was not recorded,” she said.

Councilor Moreno added that the main objective is to help and give inspirations to victims and provide a never-ending assistance through livelihood programs.

She assured that she will request the City Council for additional budget for the increase of honoraria of frontliners to help alleviate the lives of their families.

Moreno also hopes that her vision for women will be realized through cooperation and unity.
