TO strengthen coordination among agencies responsible for protecting children's welfare and safety, Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez led the Child Protection Referral Systems consultation meeting.
Participating agencies presented their reports, including current data and cases involving Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) and Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC).
The participants also reviewed existing processes for the handling and referral of child protection cases.

Discussions focused on improving coordination among concerned agencies, addressing gaps in service delivery, and ensuring that children in need of protection receive timely and appropriate assistance.
As chairperson of the committee on social services, Rodriguez emphasized the importance of establishing a more coordinated and responsive referral system to ensure that no child is left without access to the protection and services they need.

He added that strengthening the child protection referral system is an important step toward safeguarding children and reinforcing collaboration among institutions entrusted with their safety, welfare, and development. (JDO/SP)
