Emano extends relief aid to Lapasan fire victims

Councilor Yevonna Yacine B. Emano, on Monday, visited the area of Western Kolambog, Barangay Lapasan to personally extend assistance to residents after a fire hit the residential area. Based on reports, there were 19 households with 45 families or 136 individuals, mostly senior citizens, affected by the fire.

Emano reassured her commitment to helping the affected families and pledged to make further steps to ensure that nobody is left behind as they work toward recovery. .


“Ato man gyud nang saad nga simbako naa’y mahitabo nga mga kalamidad sa lain-laing barangay sa dakbayan atong commitment nga makatabang ta sa maskin unsa nga pamaagi,” she said in an interview with a radio station.


The lady councilor lauded City Mayor Rolando A. Uy and the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) for their efforts and quick response on that day, saying that it is one of the priorities of the mayor to extend help to the victims of calamities. “Isa na sa mga priorities ni Mayor Klarex nga motabang kanunay sa atong katawhan ilabina sa mga nasunogan ug simbako naa’y mahitabo nga kalamidad,” she said.


Emano called on the public to also extend assistance to fire victims even in a small way. Aside from the aid distributed by the city, private organizations and other National Government Organizations (NGOs) have also been extending aid to fire victims. Members of the affected families are temporarily sheltered at the barangay covered court and with their respective families.
