Councilor Rodriguez to lead new Consumer Protection Committee

COUNCILOR Maximo “Jonjon” T. Rodriguez III is the chairperson of the newly formed Committee on Consumer Protection under the 21st City Council (Sangguniang Panlungsod).

His appointment follows the council’s approval of Resolution No. 15422-2025, which elected the chairpersons, vice chairpersons, and members of the various standing committees.

The Committee on Consumer Protection is tasked with addressing a wide range of consumer-related concerns. These include studying and investigating issues affecting consumer rights and interests, developing policy recommendations, promoting fair business practices, and responding to consumer complaints—all in aid of legislation.

Councilor Rodriguez expressed his commitment to protecting the welfare of consumers in the city, pledging to work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the rights of buyers and clients are upheld.

Joining him in the committee are Councilor George Christopher Q. Goking as vice chairperson, with Councilors Gilda O. Go, Yevonna Yacine B. Emano, and Juancho R. Pascual, members. (JDOpema/SP)
