Councilor Rodriguez: Safety first in Christmas holiday rush

COUNCILOR Jonjon Rodriguez, chairman of the committee on consumer protection, welcomed the collaboration with Councilor George Goking, chairman of the Committee on Trade and Commerce, to formulate preventive measures to curb the sale of unsafe firecrackers and substandard Christmas lights as the holiday season approaches.
This came after the 9th Regular Session of the 21st City Council, presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, where Councilor George Christopher Goking delivered a special report on the dangers posed by unregulated holiday products, especially with the onset of the “Ber” months.
Councilor Rodriguez emphasized that ensuring only safe and quality products reach the market is crucial in safeguarding public health and safety.Councilors Marlo Tabac and Roger Abaday likewise expressed their support, underscoring the importance of mandatory safety mark stickers along with stricter monitoring and inspection in the city.
