THE 21st City Council, during its 4th regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, authorized Mayor Rolando A. Uy to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Education – Division of Cagayan de Oro (DepEd-CdeO) for partnership that will support visually impaired individuals participating in the screening process for the Civil Service Commission’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program (EEO-5).

Mayor Uy stated in his letter to the Council that the collaboration promotes equal access to employment and reflects the city’s commitment to inclusivity in public service.

Under the MOA, DepEd-CdeO will provide specialists and facilities to support the applicants. The HRMO will coordinate the assistance schedule to ensure it does not interfere with the regular duties of SPED teachers. The teachers’ immediate supervisors must approve all schedules.

On the other hand, the Human Resource Management Office of the city will act as overseer of the program implementation. (JAO/SP)
