City Council backs ₱112 million rice assistance for indigent residents

THE 21^st City Council headed by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez has approved a resolution endorsing the release of ₱112 million in rice assistance to indigent families, funded through the national government’s Local Government Support Fund – Financial Assistance to Local Government Units.

The measure aims to provide immediate food relief to low-income households and vulnerable groups in the city.

The said approved funds will be used to procure rice and cover distribution logistics to ensure timely delivery to qualified beneficiaries.

According to the resolution, the city, through the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD) will manage beneficiary validation, procurement, and distribution. (JBD/SP)
