CCPC gears up for National Children’s Month, strengthens local child protection efforts

THE City Council for the Protection of Children (CCPC), chaired by Councilor Jonjon Rodriguez, convened a pre-quarterly meeting to finalize preparations for the city’s upcoming observance of National Children’s Month and the National Congress on Children this November. 

The meeting focused on activities that promote child rights advocacy, strengthen local protection mechanisms, and provide participatory platforms to empower children in Cagayan de Oro. Strategies to further strengthen the implementation of the Local Code for Children and the Children’s Protection Code were also tackled, ensuring that these vital policies continue to safeguard and advance children’s welfare.

Present during the meeting were Councilors Des Dahino and Marlo Tabac, Atty. Jose Edgardo Uy of the Regulatory Compliance Board, representatives from the City Administrator’s Office, Balaod Mindanaw, and children’s representatives from Districts 1 and 2.

The CCPC reaffirmed its commitment to providing strong support and clear direction for initiatives that uphold the safety, welfare, and brighter future of children in CdeO. (JDO/SP)
