Cabanlas cmte to answer city housing project queries

THE committee on urban and rural poor and housing development, chaired by Councilor Edgar Cabanlas will convene today, February 27, at 10:00am, to answer the questions regarding the housing projects of the city.

It may be recalled that Councilor Jose Pepe Abbu Jr. made a special report during the 104th regular session of the 20th City Council, urging the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) to make an inventory of the city’s housing projects especially those in relocation sites.

He also requested CHUDD to review the qualifications of housing beneficiaries as well as conduct a parallel investigation with other departments of the city government.

To grace the meeting are City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas, CHUDD Acting Department Head Mr. Cesar Pagapula-an Jr., City Appraisal Committee Chair Engr. Armen Cuenca, and City Legal Officer Atty. Kenneth Tamala.

Meanwhile, the committee will also take up the proposed Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the ordinance prescribing the grounds for cancellation of awards granted to beneficiaries, their substitution, and the rules and procedures of the cancellation of awards in all socialized housing projects owned and managed by the city government.
