Achas chairs committee on fisheries and aquatic resources
Councilor Christian Rustico M. Achas, on Monday, was elected as the new chair of the City Council committee on fisheries and aquatic resources.
This, as the 20th City Council during its regular session presided over by City Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez created the committee on energy and committee on fisheries and aquatic resources as standing committees. Legislators likewise adopted a separate resolution reorganizing the composition of certain committees.
Councilor Achas expressed thanks to his colleagues for the trust and confidence given to him and assured that he will perform his duties and responsibilities as chairman of the said committee.
The committee on fisheries and aquatic resources shall study, investigate and report on all matters or proposed ordinances or resolutions related to fisheries and aquatic resource preservation and development of fishing grounds; and construction of fish ponds, corrals, oyster beds, and regulatory measures.
