COUNCILOR Jonjon Rodriguez, chairperson of the Committee on Social Services, joined the Social Pension Payout for Indigent Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) held on Wednesday, July 22, at the City Hall Quadrangle.

A total of 2,500 qualified PWD beneficiaries each received ₱3,000, equivalent to the monthly social pension of ₱500 covering the period January to June 2025, to help meet their daily needs.

In his message, Rodriguez reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the welfare of persons with disabilities and protecting their rights. He also pledged his continued support for programs and policies that promote their well-being and improve their quality of life.

It may be recalled that the councilor previously presented a special report on the timely release of the Solo Parents Subsidy and PWD Social Pension during the 12th Regular Session, stressing the importance of ensuring that qualified beneficiaries receive the assistance due them. (JDO/SP)
