Moreno beefs up youth development thru sports

TO foster community development through sports, Councilor Imee Moreno, a member of the Committee on Sports and Youth Development, distributed sports equipment to the youth of Cagayan de Oro.

The beneficiaries include students from educational institutions, namely: Balulang National High School, Carmen National High School, and Pagatpat National High School as well as youths of Brgy. Canitoan, Brgy. Pagatpat, and residents of Home Care for Girls and Balay Paglaum.

The councilor also organized free badminton clinics, serving as a platform to ignite passion for sports among the youth and further emphasizing the importance of physical and mental development through sports activities.

Councilor Moreno emphasized the values that can be learned and acquired through sports, highlighting its role as a powerful tool for breaking down barriers and fostering positive social change.

Through such initiative, Councilor Moreno aims to build a better community one child at a time, emphasizing the transformative power of sports in shaping the lives of Kagay-anon youth.
