CIACAT acts on prevalence of VAW cases

THE City Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (CIACAT-VAWC) met last May 29, 2018 presided over by Councilor Edna M. Dahino, chair of the City Council’s committee on women and family relations, to discuss in detail the prevalence of cases on violence against women and children in the city.


During the meeting, Councilor Dahino stressed the importance of the VAW Mapping System and its role in the creation and implementation of the Integrated Referral System.


The Power learned that the Integrated Referral System is designed not only to promptly meet the needs but also to resolve any and all problems and concerns of victims and/or survivors of violence. Furthermore, it also aims to provide assistance to the victims and/or survivors such as medical, psychological/counseling, shelter and legal assistance, among others.


The meeting was attended by representatives from COCPO, City Prosecutor’s Office, NBI, DILG, City Health Office, CSWD, DepEd, BJMP, City Planning and Development Office, GFPSTWG, Oro Youth and Development Council, World Vision Inc., Balaod Mindanao, Migrams Ministry, TISAKA/DROP-IN BELEN, Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association and the City Administrators Office, among others.
