Pact with MASICAP up for study
CITY Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy referred to the City Council committee on finance, budget and appropriations chaired by Councilor Edna M. Dahino the request for the renewal of the city’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Medium and Small Scale Industries Coordinated Action Program (MASICAP).
In his letter to the vice mayor and members of the 18th City Council, Mayor Oscar Moreno said the MASICAP Foundation provides a two-pronged development approach by providing assistance to rural entrepreneurs who do not have training on proposal writing and business skills thus providing them with the apt technical support to access financial institutions.
The foundation also sustains the spirit of volunteerism among Business, Economics and Accountancy students, and young graduates for them to have a window of opportunity to be part of development work by applying all the theoretical learning they got from the academe and use it to help others, The Power learned.
This matter shall be tackled by the committee anytime soon. (JAO)
