Finance cmte to tackle proposed SB1

THE City Council committee on finance, budget and appropriations chaired by Councilor Edna M. Dahino will meet today and tackle, among others, the Supplemental Budget No. 1 of the General Fund for 2018.

The Power learned that SB1 covers the


Savings/Realignment from continuing appropriations from various years amounting to P32,561,196.74 of the General Fund and P60 million surplus from 2017, are savings and are free of encumbrances and without creditors/claimants, hence available for reversion to fund priority programs of the city.


The proposed budget, once approved, shall be utilized to finance for the implementation of the City Shelter Plan and as payment for statutory obligations such as principal and interest on fly-over projects, traffic signal system and CCTV and purchase of heavy equipment, among others.


A portion of the said fund shall be used as subsidy to NGAs-Aid to Public Attorney’s Office, as well as for the implementation of various non-office special programs/projects of the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs, among others.


Councilor Dahino invited representatives of the City Administrator’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Accounting Office, City Budget Office and City Planning and Development Office to attend the meeting. (JAO)
