Goking to grace Presidents’ Academy 2022

Councilor George S. Goking, Interim Vice President of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Mindanao, is set to attend the 2022 Presidents’ Academy on October 13-15, 2022 in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

The Gavel learned that presidents of PCL provincial and city chapters, and Interim national officers are expected to attend the Capacity Development, Strategic Planning and Joint Meeting, which will prepare them for leadership in their respective chapters.

With the theme, “PCL Leadership Towards Digital Philippines”, the activity aspires to equip the new set of National Executive Officers (NEO) with the necessary knowledge and skills in management, leadership and public administration. It also aims to strengthen the camaraderie among the chapter presidents, and Interim PCL officers.

Councilor Goking said this will also serve as a venue to convene and prepare for the next three years to ensure proper downloading of PCL advocacy programs in line with the current administration’s 10-point agenda for the country’s economic renewal and long- term growth.

The capability-building program shall be handled by PCL Legislative Academy. It is mandated under Article XVII of the PCL Constitution and By-Laws.

Councilor Goking said he is hoping that this will lead to unity for fast economic recovery.

The councilor chairs the City Council committees on trade and commerce and on ways and means.
