Eco solidwaste mgmt plan of Brgy 30 OKd

THE Barangay Council of Barangay 30 can implement its Ecological Solidwaste Management Program.

The City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy approved a resolution returning to the Barangay Council its ordinance for the purpose with the information that it is in order and may be given force and effect.

The ordinance mandates the segregation of waste at source or point of origin for households, institutions, industries, commercial establishments and agricultural areas.

It provides that the barangay shall initiate the conduct of resources recovery for the compostable, recyclable and re-usable waste.

The barangay ordinance also requires the establishment of a materials recovery facility in a suitable site, which shall receive the segregated waste according to prescribed waste classification for the final sorting.

The barangay ordinance was reviewed and favorably endorsed by the committees on barangay affairs and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Yan Lam Lim and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively.
