Ocon leads inspection of settlers along coastal road

COUNCILOR Zaldy O. Ocon, chair of the City Council committee on urban and rural poor, led the ocular inspection Tuesday at the Coastal By-Pass-Road in Barangay Lapasan.
This is to look into the actual situation of the informal settlers along the coastal road so as to identify an alternative area for fishermen to park their fishing boats.
The ocular inspection was jointly coordinated by Barangay Chair Omar Labuntog, representatives of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-10), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and City Planning and Development Office (CPDO).
Representatives of City Tourism Office, City Engineering Office, and City Agriculture Office also joined in the said inspection.
Councilor Ocon said the committee will invite the concerned agencies for another round of discussion regarding the matter. (JBD)
