Urban poor committee to inspect informal settlers along coastal road
THE City Council committee on urban and rural poor and housing development chaired by Councilor Zaldy Ocon, during its meeting recently, heard the views of the Land Management Bureau and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources on the alternative area for fishermen to park their fishing boats instead of constructing sheds along the coastal road.
This, after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-10) requested the city government on removing the illegal structures at the construction site.
As this developed, Councilor Ocon and his committee decided to conduct an inspection today, January 16, 2018, at the Coastal By-Pass-Road, this city to look into the actual situation of the informal settlers and to discuss win-win solution to the problem thereafter. (EF)
