Training of students at JRBGH OKd


THE 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy during the regular session presided over by Councilor Zaldy O. Ocon, authorized City Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UHA Caregiver Training ZaNi VIV Corporation.


This is to cover the affiliation and internship training of its students at the J.R.Borja General Hospital.

In her letter request to the city mayor, Ruela Salamanca, representative of the corporation, said the purpose of the affiliation is to provide students with 40-hour on-the-job training (OJT) for the completion of their course.

Under the MOU, the JRBGH shall provide maximum opportunity for the trainees to gain actual experience and training in Barangay Health Centers and shall permit the attendance of the trainees in clinical conferences, symposium in specified activities in the professional program of the JRBGH.


It also provides that in dealing with the clients and patients, the JRBGH, its employees, staff and privies, the corporation assures that its students, faculty and staff shall perform the services being rendered with reasonable care, skill and diligence.

For its part, the affiliating school shall assume responsibility of the care of the interns in case of illness or injury during the course of affiliation.

The school shall, likewise, coordinate with the chief nurse of the authorized staff on matters concerning the program of internship, training, duties and discipline of intern’s convocations, and other related activities, among others.


The legislation was favorably endorsed by the committees on health and sanitation and health insurance and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya. (JBD)
