Implementation of 2 FMR projects in the offing

TWO more farm-to-market (FMR) road projects will be implemented in the city.

The 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-1st District Engineering Office for the concreting of the Midkiwan FMR in Barangay Bayangan and the Baikingon to Barangay San Simon FMR.

Legislators, likewise, appropriated the amount of P2 million to be made as the city’s 10-percent counterpart for the projects.

Under the MOA, the DPWH shall undertake the bidding and award of contract for the project’s civil works;, and shall complete the projects within the duration indicated in the PERT/CPM, and shall designate a project engineer who shall supervise all the project activities and facilitate the turnover of the completed FMT to the concerned LGU beneficiaries in accordance with the provisions of the MOU.

For its part, the city shall provide a counterpart fund, monitor the project implementation and maintain the good road condition of the project after completion and turnover by the DPWH.

The MOU was reviewed by the committees on public works and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Zaldy Ocon and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively.
