Daba calls on Kagay-anons to help secure the city
COUNCILOR Reuben R. Daba, chair of the City Council committee on social services, is calling all Kagay-anons to help maintain peace and order in the city of Cagayan de Oro.
This is in the midst of the ongoing armed conflict in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur that started last May 23 between the government security forces and militants of the Maute and Abu Sayyaf groups.
The councilor aired this during the weekly radio program in Magnum Radio “Ang Konseho Karon: the Mover of Change and City’s Development” with Councilors Jay Roa Pascual and Ian Mark Nacaya.
Councilor Daba and the members of the 18th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy appealed to the barangay officials to stay alert and help conduct profiling to the evacuees from Marawi.
According to Councilor Daba, the City Social Welfare and Development Department (CSWD), headed by Teddy Sabugaa, has conducted profiling of the evacuees in different barangays.
Daba appealed to fisherfolks to help protect and safeguard the shorelines, saying some militant forces may enter the city through the coastal areas.
“Gihangyo ang atong fisherfolks sa pagbantay gayud kay kamo gayud ang gisaligan sa atong shoreline aron dili kita masudlan sa mga dautang elemento and also in the hinterland barangays”, he stressed.
